I don't know know well the proprietors of the Red Moose but I stayed
there for a night in 2010 and it was one of the best stops on the
entire PCT. They already lose money with taking in hikers even when
the tab is paid, judging by their AYCE rib dinners matched with
thru-hiker appetites. A statement like that is speculation that is at
the best ignorant and at the worst malicious, much like the rumors
following thru-hikers that started this whole terrible thread. We
should try to learn from this instead of descending further into this
stuff.

So far, we've determined that anyone who doesn't know what opposite
day is has very low intelligence, that Ken Murray was possibly bullied
as a child and may be a pedophile, and that the proprietors of the Red
Moose might be involved in some business deceptions. And that's just
from one person. Sometimes the PCT-L makes me wish I was on the trail
again and sometimes... well, who am I kidding, even the drama is part
of it and it happens every year. This strikes me as ridiculous. I
think the conversation about how rumors propagate on the trail and how
trail angels and hostels should be treated is always an important one.

For the record, I know what opposite day is so hopefully I don't get
lumped in with the poor folk who don't and should probably be
committed to some sort of facility for their ignorance (sarcasm, since
it doesn't always come through in this medium). I've read a lot of
register entries and the offending one, while completely benign in
meaning, also strikes me as one of the more clueless ones.

Austin, hopefully you'll get to stay with the people at the Red Moose
in 2013. I considered it a blessing.
