Hi Marion,

Perhaps we will meet on the trail. You will be very easy to recognize.

On July 20, I will be riding Neekalos NOBO from Horseshoe Meadows to Tuolumne Meadows - and then west to Wawona. I will ride the JMT down into Yosemite Valley and hope to have gotten a permit to climb Halfdome along the way. From Yosemite Valley I plan to ride up the trail that is near the Valley end of the tunnel, towards Wawona - and take a big loop to explore the part of the park that is north of the Mariposa Grove and south of the PCT.

My first resupply will be at Cedar Grove. I will descend down Bubbs Creek, take a layover day at CG, and ride back up to the PCT via Woods Creek. (Partly because of the lack of legal places to graze a horse on the Rae Lakes Loop). There is a great camp for my horse along Woods Creek at Castle Domes Meadow for the first after CG. It has good graze and drift fences on both ends. Next camp will be at Twin Lakes. I should be there by about July 29.
My second planned resupply will be at VVR - the third at Tuolumne.

Have a great hike. Hope to meet you and Ray on the trail.

Subject: [pct-l] hike starts tomorrow

Ray and I and five llamas are starting out tomorrow for a partial yoyo
of the JMT. Hiking south from Horseshoe Lake (Mammoth Pass), planning to
turn around at Center Basin crossing and return to where we started.
We have six bear cans. I was able to get ten days food for one person in
each can. No resupplies for us. We will be out 32 days if all goes well.
So if you see two tall skinny old folks on the trail with five llamas,
say hello.
Llamalady
