Two words; Cheetos and Fire! Cheetos burn really well and in a unsanctioned test boiled a cup of water in under 20 minutes using only a half a bag. Now, a half of bag of Cheetos doesn't weigh much and would be much easier than having half a dozen chickens follow you down the trail. They take up a LOT of room which would once again justify a HUGE external frame pack so you can carry the 16 bags of Cheetos you'll need for a week's hike. (jk)
