Regarding food drops at left in bear boxes on the JMT, especially at Kearsarge Lakes.  Don't do it.  It's not allowed and George Durkee the ranger up there will definitely toss any food left in a BB that appears to be a drop.  The boxes are limited and hikers plans change--resulting in food never being picked up and having to be hauled out by the packer (Berner's) who services the area.
