[pct-l] Opinions about bringing dogs on PCT?

Hi,
 
I'm thinking of doing a section hike this summer in Northern CA.  I know there are some areas
that it is ok to bring dogs along.  But, I also have read in some books that it is better not to bring them
since they disturb wildlife and other hikers.  It is a large and friendly dog (labrador retriever) in very good
physical shape.
