You can you start arguing "its my copyright" mostly because it is the
law. There is a significant difference between deep linking to posts
stored in the PCT-L archives, and reproducing the entire content of
the mailing list on a commercial website (which postholer became when
it started selling maps) without permission of the source.

And if you can't understand the difference between the experience of
human interaction in an online forum and hiking in the wilderness,
then maybe you should not be out on the trail.

And FWIW fredwalters2 at gmail.com joined the list Weds on Jan 11, right
in the middle of this controversy, so I could be wrong but I suspect
that fredwalters2 at gmail.com is an alias for another list member.

BTW, for the folks who get mad at me for not "banning' people from the
list, back when I was younger an more naive, and I tried to do this, I
ended up with several "subscribers" that were all the same person
posting under different email addresses. This post may (or may not) be
an example of that. Gmail is not trackable like the free email
accounts that people used back then.
