I've been happy with Montrail Mountain Masochists. No blisters so far, over the southern half of the PCT and training hikes on the AT (not the same pair of shoes, of course).

Subject: [pct-l] replacement for Montrail Hardrocks
This question has undoubtedly been dealt with extensively in the past, when
I was off the list. When Columbia acquired Montrail and then dropped the
popular Montrail Hardrock, which many PCTers used, what hiking shoe did
those using Hardrocks turn to? After a couple years now, what are those
former Hardrock wearers hiking in? It had a certain sturdiness, as well as
a wide size available. Suggestions?
Dr Bob
