Halfmile,

I'm looking forward to using your maps again this year and can't wait to see
your trail notes. The maps are absolutely the best out there with all the
information you add and I expect we'll find your trail notes of equal
quality and value.

Thanks for all that you do for us.

Burning Daylight.

Subject: [pct-l] Halfmile's PCT maps have been updated for 2012

For those who are interested, my PCT maps and GPS data have been
updated for the 2012 hiking season.

My maps are the most current and accurate PCT maps available. They are
created using GPS data I personally logged while hiking the trail in
2007 - 2011. No other PCT maps are based on such accurate information.

Halfmile's Trail Notes [my version of a data book] will be will be
ready in about month.

My mileage estimates closely match the Wilderness Press Data Book used
by the Water Report, Yogi's Handbook, etc., so it's easy and
convenient to use my maps with other information sources.

My maps also have many useful notes and annotations [about water,
resupply and other information], alternate routes and side trails, and
UTM grids.

GPS data is available for downloading to your smartphone or GPS if you
carry those. Having matching data on your paper maps and GPS is a
great way to navigate, especially in the snow.

Happy hiking everyone.
