[pct-l] maps and books

All you people whining about the price of maps... it is rather pathetic.

We have thousands of dollars tied up in a single long distance hike
and your going to act like a two year old about a hundred bucks or so.

All of us have had to invest a sizable amount of money in gear and
food and time away from work/home/family/life/whatever.

Those who buy prepacked food have even more money invested.

Those of us with UL/SUL gear have even more money invested.

Those who travel in from overseas have more money just in their
airline ticket than the rest of us probably do put together.

Sure there are those *rare few* who hike the pct by begging for food
and money along the way and only spend a few hundred bucks along the
way. Chances are also pretty good these are the same people that could
never finish the trail if they did not smooch off somebody elses map
and navigational skills.

Shon made all the point that needs to be made. It is all a cost of
having the pleasure and honor of hiking the PCT.
