I can't tell if you're being playfully snide or commenting on the pricey nature of outdoor gear. 
Either way, I've received helpful recommendations for both inexpensive and expensive ponchos.
It's apparent that DIY-outdoor-gear is the Holy Grail. That's if you have the time and savviness to DIY.
