[pct-l] storing food on the PCT

Thanks Halo, for the suggestion of using the silsack to hold the OPSaks. I looked them up on the REI site. That is something that I will add to what I bring. The size that I would bring is well under an ounce.

Outside of areas that require a bear canister I've always carried my food inside an Opisack that is inside a Sea to Summit silsack. The Opi keeps food smells in and the outside sack supports it. II use two 9 liter silsacks and the larger Opisacks so there's no pressure to cause a puncture. Never had critter trouble with this in desert or mountains.
