Peter,

Thanks for contacting me about this. I'm forwarding this to the PCT discussion list. I just returned from a south bound section hike on the PCT in the Trinity Alps and passed about 15 hikers heading your way at 25 to 30+ miles pace per day. There are probably a similar amount ahead of them with a similar pace. So, I would guess about six to ten per week are coming thru.

Subject: Fire Closes PCT Trail at Mount Hood

Hi,

I'm a Fire Information Officer with the Dollar Lake Fire and we've closed a section of the PCT at Mount Hood.

This involves a detour for PCT hikers around the fire.

Do you know how many PCT hikers will be expected to pass through this area in the next 1 week? The week after that?

Is there a way we can get word out to PCT hikers approaching the fire area?

Thanks,

Peter
