[pct-l] Long Distance Hikers and $

Heather, your hike will come. I did the same waiting game when the bug to
thru hike hit me. Seven years later, after the last kid was out of high
school, I was at the starting gate (Springer Mountain in my case). Two
years after that I was at Campo.
There were times I thought I would never get to do that thru hike -- or
maybe I'd be too old by then. All bull, barring a life altering catastrophe
the trail will be there for you (Unashamed Plug - Please support the PCTA to
help ensure this!). At 55 you will be able to handle the physical
challenges of the trail. Of course you will be a little jealous of those 20
year olds that can just jump up in the morning without any groans and moans
but you'll do fine.

Again don't worry about the age thing, I am planning (with luck) to be thru
hiking trails well into my 70's (its where I want to be - plus I haven't
hiked a trail I didn't want to hike again).
