Aye - Aye - Aye !
I love seeing them - precious bits of PCT history.  I can't imagine anyone so insensitive to dig them out of living trees and sell them..

Subject: [pct-l] Common PCT Passion Agreement

We, the PCT passionate, do hereby agree in our collective mutual interest of preserving the few remaining diamond PCT trail signs, to refrain from bidding on any online auction of such. Therein, we remove from temptation the commercial interest in cutting out the now classic signs from their deeply buried homes along the PCT.

If so in agreement, all say "aye"!

One such is now on ebay, listed for $199.00 and claiming the owner needs the money for medical bills and that it came from his father. BS! The sign clearly shows that its four corners were buried into the bark of a tree, as they are rusted and the porcelane is removed.

If you're new to the list, you may have missed discussions on this in the past. I've looked into making new ones in order to provide them and lessen the interest in removing the original ones. One day . . . maybe . . .

"Aye"!!!!
