I had a similar experience in my arm. My pack strap cut at a nerve in my shoulder and sent tingly feelings shooting down my arm. In Etna I used part of an old z-lite and some duct tape to pad my straps. It looked goofy -like I was wearing a jet pack or something- but it solved the problem. No more numb arm while hiking. If I ran my fingers over my collarbone I could still send shooting tingles down my arm until a few weeks after I got off the trail.
