[pct-l] start date at Cascade Locks NB

Hi,

My son and a friend have been planning for a while now to hike part of the PCT starting June 23 at Cascade Locks and going north to Manning Park. Their had to change their schedule because of school so they could end around the first week in August. Seems like it may be very snowy in late June and I'm not sure they are prepared for that. Since they have to start at Cascade Locks (due to tickets, etc), would it be advisable for them to hike southbound through Oregon instead? How much snow and what kind of conditions would they likely find in WA that time of year? I saw that there was record snowfall this year.

I really appreciate any advice I can pass along.
