Elaine, my wife wore men's Asics Gel Nimbus for a number of years and liked
them (she has severe feet issues, bunions, etc.). Last year she switched to
Brooks Cascadia 6, again the men's, because it had a tread with  more
"grippiness". They also have worked well for her.

You might consider the men's because the wider last accommodates the
thruhiker's swelling of the feet better than the women's models.
