Last time I was in Mammoth Lakes the Park and Ride in town had signs
indicating overnight parking was not allowed.
Parking at Mammoth Mountain just east of the Main Lodge is okay. I did it
last summer for a week. Just tell parking security, leave a note on your
seat, and display your forest pass. Don't know if the forest pass is a
requirement, but better to be safe than sorry.
If you can't find parking security and don't have a forest pass... at the
very least leave the note.
