 If you are planning to park at Mammoth Mtn. Ski Area let them know.  The management doesn't appreciate cars left overnight, and they might call out the SAR team.  It is $7 to enter the Devil's Post-pile National Monument via bus or auto & overnight parking is available at trail-heads in the Monument.  Devil's Post-pile is scheduled to open 24 June.  However, depending on where your trail work is you could also park up in the lakes basin by the Duck Lake trail head or Horseshoe lake trail-head area for free.  The other free option would be to park on the street and hitch/take a shuttle to the aforementioned options from the village.
