I have no idea about driving right up to the building but it isn't much farther at all to a trailhead parking lot.
Looks like about 1.5-2 miles between the two.

I put together a quick little Google Map that shows the building and the nearby parking.  Note, I don't
know how official this parking area is.  I just remember seeing it on my hike:
