Is it possible that illegal immigrants would steal your things that close to
the border?  Sure, but that would be the dumbest thing they could do
considering the high concentration of Border Patrol agents in the area.  I
would be more concerned about rodents, mules and Minutemen....rodents
especially since their population tends to multiply after a fire.
