[pct-l] current snow conditions

I heard last night that snow accumulations near Donner Pass is the deepest it has been since the 1950s (over 750" or 62') and locals are saying that it may be the most snow since they started keeping records . . . and the snow season isn't over yet up there. The photographs I saw of the snow dwarfed two story buildings. It is definitely the most snow of any season in recent memory in that region of the PCT.

Hikers hoping to thru-hike should be carefully watching the California Department of Water Resources site, www.cdec.water.ca.gov/snow/ They will post the all-important accumlation totals on April 1.

Hiking the trail this year and was wondering what feedback people had on the current snow conditions in the Sierra and Pacific Northwest (as for start dates and hiking conditions). Sorry if this is an old issue and I am bringing it up yet again.
