Probably the economy plays a big part in the decision of some to start the
trail, but snow levels and weather in general may play a bigger part in why
some decide not to continue.

Just a guess, as we met quite a few folks who didn't continue after a taste
of the Sierra snow, and some, just hearing the stories. But before any of
you decide not to hit a very snowy Sierra, if the spring stacks up like it's
looking right now, try it with a group of people you like, and trust. Stick
around in Lone Pine until you've got one, and then try it. I had real
doubts about hitting the Sierra early last year at all, as did Smiles, a
very accomplished mountaineer, but because of the group of us, thank you
Mango, we all made it, and it was some of the best times of the whole trip.

It's almost here you wonderful class of 2011!!!!!!!!
