What you want is pants with a zipper on the lower leg to allow for putting on and off while wearing boots.

  I'm wondering about the width of the hem, will they slide over a boot or would I need to stop and remove my footwear to put the pants on? I wear lightweight boots rather than trail runners as I need the thicker sole.
