Echo is a size nine, and the size small bent her shoes pinching the toes a bit.

The mediums were plenty tight.

... Not an exact size reference but close.  
How sturdy your shoe is makes a big difference... If your shoe is so light that the rubber deforms them much;  you may be hard pressed to find and good traction aid without a over the top strap
