[pct-l] Wide shoes?

Here we go with some more shoe talk! Does anyone have any suggestions
regarding brands that make wide shoes? I just had REI measure my foot
today and they told me that I am a men's 8 wide. I have struck out on
shoes a lot. Vasque 8.5W, Keen 9, Garmont 9, etc... All were too
skinny and gave me pinch blisters on my toes and often heel blisters.
I tried Vasque 9 Wide today and they were still too skinny. I have
some all leather Asolos that I love (8.5). I'm planning to use these
through the Sierra (mostly for stability on snow), but want something
lighter for the rest of the trail. I'm to the point of thinking I
might wear my Chacos (8W) through SoCal. They've done me well on
numerous 5-7 day trips but am worried about cutting my exposed foot
and it getting infected. I hike quite a bit and also hike, often with
weight, for work, so I'm not expecting major foot growth (but I guess
we'll see). In any case, I need to get shoes and get hiking in them
really soon, but nothing feels right. Any suggestions?
