The owner of the Chevron station, Manny, told me today that they will be stocking canister fuel on the shelves for thru hikers starting in a week or so! They already have Heet (blue label), some freeze-dried food, and other typical items carried in a "gas-mart." 

The grocery store in town has closed, so if you are leaving the trail over Kearsarge Pass, this place is your only food source in town (otherwise you'll have to hitch up to Bishop or down to Lone Pine). They also have laundry machines and a public shower facility.
