Down for cold weather, fleece socks for warmer. I have a pair each of 200 & 300 weight, depends on the temp. The down booties are really warm.

Down, for really cold weather. Thick, loose wool socks for mid-range.

Curious what other people prefer to use...my feet get pretty chilly at
night, so having an extra something on in the bag with me would be lovely
(and cut down on the number of hothands I end up carrying with me!).
