Boys and Girls, Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am looking for a partner or persons to share some day hikes along the PCT.
I have hiked from the Mexico border through the Big Bear area and parts of
the Angeles National Forest and parts of No. Cal through the Quincey area
and I am going with a group of PCT Section hikers to finish section L, M and
parts of N in late August. I currently have 400 miles complete and will have
500+ at the end of the summer. I am not particular if I hike from South to
North or visa-versa.

I am a 64 year old retired male and I live in northern San Diego County. I
prefer to day hike and car camp vs. backpack but I recognize that some
backpacking is necessary. At the end of the day I find that I have roughly
done 2 miles per hour. I am not afraid of 20+ miles per day. Because I like
to day hike, two cars are sometimes necessary, plus I have promised my wife
that I would not hike alone, so I am in search of a partner/s. I currently
have two people that I have been hiking with, but one has a large family and
is a working mom, and her time is limited. The other has had some illnesses
issues and cannot keep up.

Because of the price of gas, I prefer to make short trips to the hiking area
and camp for three or four days and get in some hikes. But I am open to any
ideas in order to keep up steady progress towards Canada.

If anyone has a trip planned on the PCT let me know. I would love to join. I
will even assist someone pickup miles that I have already covered.

Clark Martin
