Here in the Columbia Gorge near Cascade Locks, OR, we have a similar though
fortunately less frequent problem along the Eagle Creek Trail. Folks try to
get a better view of the waterfalls, especially Tunnel Falls, by foolishly
climbing the wet, moss-covered basalt wall of the canyon. One slip and it's
a long way down to a face-plant on the rocks. In most places, it's the last
fall they ever take.
Never let your ego write checks your body can't cash.
