Bear charms most likely won't protect you when you surprise a female with
cubs as the two hikers that were mauled recently in Yellowstone did.
They work fairly well for keeping bears out of your camp, but a mother
grizzly protecting her cubs... I'm surprised that one of the hikers survived
with just cuts and bruises
Cotton tobacco sacks can be purchased at most 'Smoke Shops.'  Maybe even
online.
