Good morning!
 
If you need advice or assistance in any sewing endeavor, a great
resource is your local American Sewing Guild.  Most cities and large
towns have members, and you can find out where they might be at a local
sewing machine specialty center (not a department store).
 
They will probably cast a whole new light on any creative piecing
endeavor, or difficult-to-work-with fabric.  Not generally "seamstresses
for hire," you may find a guild member or teacher who will come
alongside in your project.
 
As to sewing machines themselves, it probably is not so much the brand,
but the needle, that will be appropriate for your fabric, whether it be
silnylon or leather.  Also, if you will be working with fleece, you'll
generally need a serger, not a sewing machine.
 
And, remember, a lousy tool in skilled hands is usually better than a
super tool in unskilled hands.
