Let's not forget that bears also like human food in places where canisters
are not required!! So ALWAYS protect your food using appropriate means. I
like to use an Ursack between Sonora Pass and Sierra City (plus some other
places), and often use the Mendorider-approved Opsacks to control food odors
- they're not that expensive and last a long time if you take care of them.
The Opsacks also keep little critters out of the food bag.
