A bivi will cause as much or more dampness from condensation than the average dew from a night spent cowboy camping. I just tie my bag to my pack to air dry or if the bushes are wet I set it out in the sun during my lunch break. Avoid camping on grass to help reduce the amount of dew or condensation. A bivi is great in a storm to prevent getting soaked.
