[pct-l] The Desert

i gotta agree, it is a lot less of an extreme dessert than i expected in just
about all places.
i was over-prepared last year for harsh endless walks on sand dunes in the
dreaded 'dessert' section. and; actually it was quite enjoyable in the end.

but it's still hugely different form the northwest, or the AT.

I have lived in So Cal all my life so most of my hiking experience has been

with me so I don't bother trying to convince anybody anymore.

Hey, for those of us who live in the Pacific Northwest, any place without
moss and ferns is desert. End of discussion. :-)
