  I've always had a tent but the people who tried to sleep with a tarp or less
  reported that they were kept awake all night long by the Marmots harassing
  them.  It seems that there are fewer Marmots on the lower side of the guitar
  lake, away from the foot of the switchbacks, maybe a 20 minute walk.
