[pct-l] Boots for ankle support

I would agree that even stout-high top boots are NO assurance from ankle injury. A couple decades ago, while hiking the JMT and wearing high top boots, I sprain an ankle badly while descending a blocky granitic stair case section of trail through Kings Canyon. I had to retreat from the hike! Intuitively, as with cross-country running shoe design, the best support seems to be a wider soul in the heal section of the foot wear. But, even better, is to be more cautious when hiking steep stair cases with loose rock.
