For those interested:
Washington Trail Association (WTA.org) has their volunteer vacations for the
year posted and open for joining. Volunteer vacations are supported by pack
strings to bring in tools, food, etc.
They have 3 on the PCT for all ages. These include:
August 6 – August 13th at Pear Lake about 20 trail miles north of Stevens Pass.
The hike in via a side trail is advertised at 6 miles.
September 3-10th at Deep Lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. The hike in is
listed as 8 miles.
September 10th-17th at Deep Lake again.
In addition to the above 3 volunteer vacations, they have several youth only
vacations as well.
July 30th-August 6 at Pear Lake (as noted above.)
August 13th-August 20th and again on the 20th to the 27th they’re at Lemah
Meadows. This one is not listed as being on the PCT, but Lemah Meadows is on
the PCT a few trail miles north of Spectacle Lake (being about 20 trail miles
north of Snoqualmie Pass).
As of this writing, there are spots available on all of these trips.
Note: Pear and Deep lakes are both extremely beautiful locations. Lemah
Meadows as noted is only a few miles from Spectacle lake, another gem of the PCT
in Washington.
