Thanks to the many contributors, let me summarize this year's hiking
wisdom from a newcomer's perspective.  Yes, it's plagiarism, but again,
thanks to the many contributors:
 
No cotton, seriously.
It's perfect when you have nothing left that you can leave behind.
Folks watch out for each other.
After 3 weeks, you will be a bottomless pit.
Gear talk fades away.
Corn pasta es muy oogie.
When you go into Canada without permission, you will be ok, arrested,
detained, made an example of by very unsympathetic men, frog-marched
back to the monument without your suppler, feasted as a hero, or
nothing.
Ice axes in their pack loops can't stop your slide.
Trail angels are proof that God loves us.
