[pct-l] SPOT vs Cell Phone

I have a different view.

If you get hurt on the PCT you will probably be in an area with no cell
phone service. A phone will do you no good but a Spot can still send an
emergency help request.

If your wife is hurt, neither will help you until you get near a town. If
you are using Spot to routinely report your location someone can get you out
of the forest. Fortunately others will be able to help her..

I'll take my Spot and my wife on my hikes. ;)

Phone.

If you are doing this for piece of mind the potentials of a phone far out
way the potentials of a SPOT.

One simple potential situation and I need go no further:

You get hurt, either works. Your wife ends up in the hospital, is a SPOT
going to help you?
