I had a similar problem with a wedding, and missed the section before Agua
Dulce.  I came back in late Sept early Oct after reaching Manning Park, and
finished my thru at Agua Dulce.  It was beautiful in the fall.  Just another
option if folks tell you it's too early.  I don't know, maybe it's just
gorgeous early, but I'd be prepared for snow and rain.  We were snowed on in
this section in May last year, and some nights were really cold.
