[pct-l] Bodypacks

John,
     I've been very interested in this natural concept for over 30 
years.  Finally, an Aarn distributor opened shop here in the US last 
year and I immediately ordered the Aarn Featherlite Freedom pack.  I had 
been planning to use my Gossamer Gear Mariposa Plus pack for our 
upcomming 2012 PCT thruhike.  However, last summer I tread 85miles in 
the Sierra, 35miles on the AT and 35miles on Isle Royale with the Aarn 
Bodypack and it has me thoroughly SOLD!   It is remarkably well built 
and comfortable even for my 6'2" frame.   For me, I have found that pack 
design can be far more important, and even more forgiving, than pack 
weight.  35lbs in the bodypack feels like 25lbs in my ultralight 
Mariposa Plus.  The bodypack system that Aarn developed in New Zealand 
was originally suited for mountain climbing, and the pack supports a 
natural balance that reduces fatigue and increases endurance.  I can't 
say enough good about the body pack and plan to thru hike the PCT with 
it next year.  The ONLY downside to the system is it's at first 
cumbersome and admittedly unique appearance.
