Amen to all of you.  With a pack any heavier than I had, I wouldn't have
made it last year.  Over the hike I continued to lessen the load, and every
pound was a revelation in ease.  When you live with the weight of your pack
for months, any lessening is noticed through increased speed, length of
hours hiked in a day and sheer pleasure.  I'm not under 10 lbs yet, but
would love to be in future.
