Hey Dan,
I can confirm this is a fuel-hog. That said, it is still better than others
out there.
If you are looking for alternatives, perhaps:
Caldera Cone with a MiniBullDesign mini-atomic.
That is the hottest burning setup (alcohol) I have encountered. The MBD
mini-atomic is also one of the most fuel efficient stoves I have used. A
little PITB to use with the center pressure screw, but a super hot burning
stove for very fast boil times.
That said, the Evernew Ti has a lot of fans out there.
