[pct-l] helping out

the fire tank at rodrigez is almost the stuff of legends ... an old rusty tank
with many dead lizards and mice floating in the top, forming a fatty film of
gross.

... clean water there would be a huge benefit ... no amount of filtering can
remove the mental yuck of the bloated dead animals you have to swoosh around to
get to that ottom few inches of water in there.

in 2010 the ornwers of the outfitter in julian brought in a 450 gallon tank on
the back of their 4X4 and hikers did not have to endure this, traditionally,
horrible PCT right of passage. i consider myself blessed.
