Here's the link for the kick-off. I've been watching for an announcement of registration openning on this page, as well as on Twitter
http://www.siechert.org/adz/
That organization buys-out the campground for that weekend/ event and handles the registration themselves.

For before and after the event, the event occurs at Lake Morena County Park, adminstered by the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation. Although the park can sell a site for someone arriving (if available) its best to reserve a site, as they sell-out. If sold out, there's also nearby Portero County Park.

You can make an on-line reservation for a campsite, even see the campground layout and what is available for a given (other than the dates ADZPCKTO or anyone else made) at: http://www.co.san-diego.ca.us/parks/

You can also do a phone in reservation, through the sites contact #s

There's also Boulder Oaks Campground, on the PCT. Their on a first-come-first serve basis about 8 miles away along Hwy 8 (in route to the kick-off). Their administered through Cleveland National Forest. As of December 31st they had no running water, as it didn't pass the test for crypto. No wood fires permitted on that date either. Guessing because there was no camp host at that time to keep things in check (it was wet enough at that time, fire danger was low).
