[pct-l] hiking with dog

Like it or not, not everyone likes your dog or wants it around them. Parents
with small children can be especially cautious, especially around unleashed
dogs. It is not logical to expect most hikers to keep their beloved pets on
a lead, except maybe in a National Park.

With more hikers carrying pistols these days, a dog that is perceived (and
perception is reality) to be aggressive can get shot and there's very little
you as the owner can do about it, especially if it's off the lead.

I was raised around dogs and enjoy well-behaved dogs, but I really detest
owners whose dogs are always barking, chasing the local wildlife, or just
sniffing around my camp. Control your animal or keep it at home.
