[pct-l] Notify thru's ASAP Warner Springs mailing and resupply SUGGESTIONS

Sorry Half Step

I should have stated I was making a suggestion.

Sending to the Post Office (Warner Springs, CA 92086) is simpler, easier and you have a better chance of receiving it.
Sending to the resort is complex allowing chance for error. All the resort staff seems extra nice and extra helpful this year. Jump through all the hoops perfectly and you will probably get your box.
They also have hoops to jump through. In all, lots of room for error.
I never send my boxes to Post Offices when I can send it to a place that has better hours.

BUT
I received an email from a hiker three weeks ago who did not get one of his packages.
I am glad he made me aware of this, so I can pass this on.

By making this suggestion I can now simply respond:
"Did you hear my suggestion about using the Post Office?"
Followed by:
"If you hitch south 15 miles, there is a grocery store."
This allows me to move on and help the next person.

If I hear a hiker trashing the resort concerning a resupply box again, I KNOW they did not take my suggestion. A hiker trashed the resort BIG TIME verbally to their face, to many other hikers and all over the internet last year.
She continues to do so as of just a few days ago.
BAD PR for ALL of us hikers........... including me.
I spent a lot of hours doing damage control.
The resort spent a lot of time getting their policy out to hikers.

TO SUM IT UP FOR RESUPPLY IN WARNER SPRINGS
I suggest you send a box to the Post Office or hitch 15 miles south to Don's Market. They open at 6am.

See you in Warner Springs

Can we send packages to the resort if we plan on staying there - (nothing sneaky)? I was planning on calling ahead with a reservation when I know the date we would arrive.

  Hi All

Only send food and send it to
  General Delivery
  Warner Springs, CA 92070

  Not the resort.

You will not be able to resupply at the Mini Mart this year.
Hitch 15 miles south to the stop sign..... Santa Ysabel.
Don's Market can help and the Julian Apple Pie Company can help more with pie and ice cream.
I will be making one shuttle about 3pm Sunday.

Many hikers this year are giving bad PR to PCT hikers by trying to sneak unregistered guests on to the resort. There is always one hiker every year who we consider a "Problem Child" and "defrauding an inkeeper" is breaking the law. This year seems to have more "Problem Children" in that respect. AND IN MY HOME!!. None for attitude yet.
Please get the F**K off our trail!! I will personally send reports of any bad behavoir, with your name on it, to all trail angels form here to Manning. You hurt the rest of the hikers!

The stupidest part is they simply need to put their friend's name on the room to get them a pass. Integrity that does not cost them a dime!

  Monty
