The PCT permit is a valid wilderness permit in Yosemite, but only for the PCT itself, and not other trails (such as the JMT from Tuolumne to the valley).

From http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/jmt.htm :

Pacific Crest Trail
Pacific Crest Trail through-hikers with a valid permit issued by the Pacific Crest Trail Association<http://www.pcta.org/> do not need an additional wilderness permit in order to camp in the Yosemite Wilderness while along the Pacific Crest Trail. However, if you plan to hike elsewhere in Yosemite (off of the Pacific Crest Trail) and camp overnight, you will need to get a separate wilderness permit<http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/wildpermits.htm>. PCT through permits are also not valid to ascend the Half Dome cables<http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/halfdome.htm>.

I've heard that from other PCT-listers but don't know the answer first-hand. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

So a PCT permit can be used as a wilderness permit in Yosemite?
