Great list of places for good outfitters.  Two more to add to the list are
Shasta City and Hood River.  Great food, lodging and outfitters.  Hood
River, just up river of Cascade Locks is a wonderful town of brew pubs, the
best sticky buns I've ever had, Wed and Sunday at Betty's, and lots of
outfitters.  World famous wind surfing destination, it's not far from
Cascade, and worth a zero if you're ready for one.  It was only our second
full zero since South Shore Tahoe, and a really fun place with lots of
outdoor spirit.
